Currently hiring:

CASHIER/FOOD RUNNER – Part Time/Hourly (SJC & Oceanside Locations)

What we are looking for: You are a hospitality and customer service professional. You have a desire to learn, regardless of your previous positions. Previous experience in food service and cashiering is preferred. Knowledge of restaurants and regional cuisines, as well as neat penmanship are, a plus.

You will play a key role in day-to-day operations of the menu board and POS set up. You will be responsible for cash handling, learning the food, standards of service, and utilizing time effectively. Display a positive attitude and create the experience at Heritage Barbecue as a ‘face’ for the restaurant. The experience and service are of the utmost importance to you at the restaurant.

DISHWASHER – Full Time/Hourly (Oceanside Location)

What we are looking for: You are fast, careful, and clean. You are responsible for cooking tools, supplies, glassware, and dishes and the organization of safe storage of each.

You will take responsibility for the washing area, equipment, supplies, and systems and help the staff maintain a sanitary and efficient workspace.

LINE COOKS & PREP COOKS – Full & Part Time/Hourly (SJC and Oceanside Locations)

What we are looking for: You are passionate of your craft and are looking for continuous growth. You are organized and meticulous. You are respectful and humble. You are efficient and possess a sense of urgency while also being thoughtful, clean, and productive. You come in with a willingness to learn, a honing for your craft and ready to absorb techniques and skills attributable to your work. Above all, you like to cook for and with others.

You will show up on time to prep your station. Help others with their prep. Take lead of your station during service. Know everyone else’s station. Taste everything. Keep the kitchen clean and organized before, during, and after service.

BARDTENDER/BEERTENDER – Full & Part Time/Hourly (Oceanside Location)

What we are looking for: You are a professional at your craft, whether it be wine, beer or mixology, you are well versed and knowledgeable. You uphold the integrity of the workplace and create a welcoming environment to each person, whether it be a guest, peer and/or stakeholder. If it’s beer, you are a beer enthusiast, if it’s wine, you are a wine connoisseur, if it be mixology, you are an expert in that craft.

You will show up on time to prep your station. Help others with their prep. Take lead of your station during service. Know everyone else’s station. Know the menu. Keep the area clean and organized before, during, and after service.

SOUS CHEF – Full Time/Salary (Oceanside Location)

What we are looking for: You are knowledgeable through culinary and restaurant experience where the volume is high, and the standards are executed effectively. You know and understand utilizing time wisely, being proactive with your team, and keeping a level head no matter what situation. Passionate is an understatement to you, and you take pride in your work and the environment you create.

You will manage your crew and achieve the best out of them. We are not a one-man show, we are a culinary team who pushes boundaries and encourages creativity. You are flexible, loyal, and like-minded with the vision of Heritage Barbecue.
